DUSTY PUDDLES DACHSHUND RESCUE

THE STORY OF US

One warm summer day in July 05’, my husband and I had just completed our move from Lubbock to Stephenville Texas. Once settled in, we decided to check out the local flea market.

As we were strolling the market and enjoying each other’s company we soon stumbled across the animal section. Baby ducks, chicks, goats, kittens and puppies were everywhere. We knew as cute and cuddly as they all were we were safe, we didn’t need another pet but fate had another idea and a litter of miniature Dachshunds suddenly stood out from all the rest. Of course we had to go over and pet the little fellas. Well one brave little guy decided that he was the one out of all the others that needed to be loved. Questions and doubts went out the window and little Fritz; just big enough to fit in the palm of my hand, joined our family. Originally we thought that he would make a great companion for our mother, but again, fate intervened, and Fritz came to live with us.

A year or so later, friends advised us that another dachshund was in need of a home. After meeting her, sweet little Sadie Mae was adopted. Well fritz and Sadie fell in love and gave us our own litter of pups, Charlie, Max, Niclae, Jake and Chloe. Max stayed with us and each of the others found their own family and were just as happy and healthy as could be. A year or so later  Charlie needed a new home so with little debate we decided we’d be his forever family too.

Now we are up to 4. Since then Sulley, Dolly, Dolly #2, Emma Jean, Riley, Stormy Lou, Molly and Todd have passed through our doors. Stormy, Emma Jean, Sulley and molly and Daisy May have also decided they needed to stay either with us or somewhere in our family. So now we are up to 8. We foster, adopt, shelter and rescue as many of these wonderful pets as we can, some of which are even special needs puppies, and will continue to do so as long as we can. As much as we love them, they cannot all stay.

Dachshunds are now a part of our hearts and lives, and because of this we are pledging to do all we are able, to see that every Dachshund finds their own family to bring happiness, joy and love to.

If allowed, a Dachshund can offer more love and devotion than could ever be asked, and soon become more that just a family pet…

They become your companion.
